FICTION FILM

This film is produced as part of my Bachelor in Media and Culture at University of Amsterdam. This film is originally an attempt to remake the first 4-minute opening scene of Ex Machina (2014). Inspired by Sofia Coppola's style, this film aims to describe a post-humanistic world where people are valued and paired up by AI to explore how technology fails to mimic, understand, and dictate human's sentimental sphere.

This remake tells the story of a lonely, opinionate, and hard-headed man who goes for a mischievous matchmaking AI advertisement to realise how it messes up his potential relationship.

As the director, DoP, and screenwriter, I learnt to set up meeting and callsheet, to ensure a clear 3-arc structure in creating the screenplay, to supervise lighting setup, to create storyboards, to give guidances on the camera angle and movement, and to oversee both pre-production and post-production process.

DOCUMENTARY FILM

This film is a part of my Bachelor in Media and Culture at University of Amsterdam. This documentary seeks to discover the history behind the prosperity of Amsterdam.

Approaching the question through the curious eyes of girl from a multicultural background of Dutch and Surinamese, the film visits all the facade where the heritage of Dutch slave trade is prominent. With the help of a history expert from Amsterdam Hermitage Museum (H'ART), history is unrolled.

As the editor of this documentary project, I have learnt the skills of creating a structured storyline, editing shots with a flow in mind, working with stock image and footage, and editing to the beat of music.
